ABOUT STEVIE
A native of Scotland’s capital city Edinburgh, Stevie Palmer is a multi-award winning singer songwriter of quality and universal appeal (most recently as a featured cast member in the Scottish Traditional Music Award winning production of ‘Far, Far From Ypres’). This appearance included a performance of highly commended composition ‘Black Is The Sun’ from his critically acclaimed first album ‘Heartprint Shadow’ (Greentrax Recordings).
Stevie’s roots run deep across a number of genres including Folk, Soul and Jazz, with comparisons ranging from The Proclaimers and Dougie Maclean to Paul Weller and Antony and the Johnsons. His writing style is imbued with artistic sensitivity, craft and perceptive sensibility. This is aligned to a voice of remarkable range and depth, both tonally and emotionally.
He continues to write, record and perform regularly, with long awaited second album ‘We Become The Sunshine’ (Greentrax Recordings) due for release on the 1 st of September 2020. This album was co-produced with legendary artists Dick Gaughan and Ian McCalman. It features some of Scotlands finest musicians including Karine Polwart, Phil Cunningham and Mr Mcfall’s Chamber. It was also awarded the generous support of Creative Scotland.
Alongside his solo career Stevie has also co-written songs with a number of other successful recording artists including Chris Jones (Running Out Of Time, Vital Signs) and Greg Pearson (These Walls, Heart of A Lion).
